 Downloads Manager not working
Solution

Some computers are missing certain dlls needed for the Downloads Manager to run properly. Fortunately, you do not need the Downloads Manager at all,  as all it does is open an explorer window with the lesson files for you.

You just need to get the lesson files in Windows Media Player so you can listen, burn audio cd’s, or transfer to an mp3 player.

Here is how to get the lesson files into Windows Media Player(WMP for short):

1. Navigate to the folder with the lesson files:  Open an explorer window, then navigate to: c:\Program Files\Downloads Manager\Media\Spanish(or whatever your language course is)

2. Start WMP(Windows Media Player). To do this,  click Start->Programs->Windows Media Player.

To make things go smoothly we suggest the following:

       a) make sure WMP has its "Menu bar"(File View Play) showing. If not, press CTL-m to display the menu bar.

b)Resize WMP so it is not Full Screen, and not too small either. Make it about 3/4 the size of your monitor so you can see all of the items it has to display, but also so you can get to the explorer window easily.

3. In WMP, in the black menu bar, click "Library".

       a) In the Explorer window you opened in a previous step, drag the folder(or individual lessons) containing all the lessons to WMP(i.e. Spanish folder), and add them to the "Untitled Playlist" area(located in the right side area of the WMP window).

For example, if you have Pimsleur Spanish, you can drag the "Spanish" folder from the explorer window you opened to the "untitled playlist" area in WMP, and all the files will be added.   There may be a pause where nothing happens while the files are being added.

Important-> Click the "Save Playlist" button(located at the bottom of the playlist area where your lessons were just added) and name the playlist whatever you choose that makes it easy to find.

Once you do this, the Playlist will show up in the "Playlists" area of WMP(upper left area). You can select that playlist you created and then choose whice lessons to play, burn, ect.
